I am the Millennial stereotype of the teacher who hates calling. At least parents. I much prefer in person meetings.

I absolutely agree with the importance of phoning home, as nerve-wracking as it may be in a difficult situation. Also the importance of asking for advice from colleagues and requesting to have another member of staff with you for difficult meetings. Such a useful, and often over-looked, area of responsibility to write about Jack, a really helpful read.

I wish I’d had this resource when I was teaching! There’s so much to be learnt from sharing wisdom and experiences. Thank you for all your doing to connect with and build up other teachers as they hone their craft!

Phone calls home are such a great way to build that positive, professional relationships with parents! They're scary at first but the more you do them, the easier they get!

Good advice. When I was teaching I preferred email because it was in writing. Sometimes things can get heated. When I had to have face to face I was always the model nice teacher. It helps 100% to look and sound professional, as there is still something of an aura that surrounds a teacher who looks and sounds the part.
