The power of words. Knowing your students as well as you do really shows in your pieces. Brilliant, they’ll remember you for sure.

The scariest thing about this year…..is that it’s coming to a close. A chapter in my career that I will certainly not forget. It has been an absolute joy supporting these children and a privilege working alongside you 😁

Feeling’s mutual Mandy - it even scares me sometimes how little we need to say to each other to know what to do through the day 😂

Wow Jack,

This brought back many memories of my 6th grade teacher Mr. Broughton. Mr Broughton had a laid back but engaging way of teaching students, but there is one thing he did very well and it made the world of difference for my classmates and I.

Mr Broughton prepared us for the transition to Junior High School where we encountered bigger bullies, multiple classrooms, a class schedule, huge lunch rooms, multiple teachers and just an overall environment that was much different than our small one classroom routine at our grade school.

I couldn’t imagine making that transition with out some of the lessons and encouragement we received from Mr. Broughton. He was a great teacher but an even greater positive influence on so many of us.

Great read!

As a primary teacher, I relate to this. Words can hurt and can change a mood from bad to good.

And to see it happen in such quick succession with the same individual illustrates just how easily we can do both. Glad you can relate Jamie.

A brilliant piece, Jack. Where were you when I was growing up? If only more teachers (or anyone) taught like you. Words do matter.
