Welcome!
If you’re in education, you’ll know what I refer to as ‘online negativity around teaching’. Everywhere I look, I see people complain about:
The doomed youth of today
The education systems in place
Heavy teacher workloads
Low teacher pay
Clashing ideologies
The loss of creativity
The influence of AI
And, you know what? SO much of this comes from OUTSIDE the profession.
So, here’s a full-time teacher - someone who knows what the job entails - here to share the positives of today’s educational world.
I know it’s not all sunshine and rainbows but I’m determined to slice through the negativity and show the world that it remains a proud, noble profession doing a lot of good.
Subscribe now and you’ll get a weekly positivity roundup of:
Growth - something I’ve learned, implemented or thought about that week
Giggles - something that’s made me laugh or smile
Gratitude - something I’m grateful for.
Through these reflections, you’ll see that there’s still a lot to feel good about in teaching.
How did I get here?
At the time of writing, I’m in my third year of teaching (fourth if you count the teacher training year which, if you’ve been through one, you won’t mind me doing). Though it’s still early for my career, I came to it a little later than most - starting at the age of 28 - and built a wider worldview in the years before I became a teacher.
As such, I also share the odd ‘Weekend Wisdom’ - be it a lesson that I’ve learned in my journey past or something new. I share these in the hope that you may benefit from them too.

This is clear and concise Jack ! Looking forward to reading your growth, giggles and gratitude.
