Become a better teacher with Substack - #2
Carousel lessons, the Power of Reading and the nature of inspiration
I learn a lot from my colleagues and I’m sharing that here on Substack through my newsletter, How to be a Teacher.
But Substack - wonderful format that it is - is also something my practice takes inspiration from.
Therefore, I’d like to share what I’ve been reading because there’s a lot more for you to gain from it too
📖Here are my favourite reads this week:
() - these lessons are a great way to get children moving, providem multiple challenge levels at once and deliver it without spending every waking hour planning for different attainments. Laura’s post has a couple of great insights into how to do this and the rest of her work is full of experience and guidance. Must-follow for teachers. The Teachers’ Collection: a story by
() - Mary is such a beacon of wisdom and practical ideas and we’re really blessed to have her here on Substack giving us all an insight into her world. This post has the most staggering research finding linked to reading and she has promised to expand on it with more information on how teachers can apply it in the classroom. Another must-follow.When inspiration doesn’t pay you a visit by
() - I used to read about novel writers discussing theur characters like they had a life of their own and it always confused me. “You wrote the character, what are you on about?” As I’ve pursued more creativity in life, I’ve come to realise that they’re all correct, that inspiration and creativity have us rather than us having them. This is a hugely relatable post by Marie (as always) with spiritual inspiration on how to come to terms with this fact and what it can do for you.Know anyone else who might benefit from these talented writers?
